“All In Your Name” [Official Music Video] – Michael Jackson Featuring Barry Gibb.

Released by Barry Gibb on Dec 19, 2011:

“Michael Jackson and I were the dearest of friends, thats simply what it was. We gravitated towards the same kind of music and we loved collaborating and he was the easiest person to write with. The more we got to know each other the more those ideas entwined and it all came to this song “All in Your Name”.
“All in Your Name” is infact the message that Michael wanted to send out to all of his fans all over the World that he did it all for them and for the pure love of music. I hope and pray that we all get to hear it in its entirety. This experience i will treasure forever.

Recorded & Filmed at Middle Ear Studios in December 2002. All footage was shot by Ashley Gibb on a high 8 camera. There is over 2 hours of footage.”- Barry Gibb

Michael Jackson sang “Elizabeth, I Love You”..

February 1997, Michael Jackson was Elizabeth Taylor’s escort at her 65th Birthday celebration. Michael performed a special song he composed specifically for this occasion in honor of his friend Elizabeth. The song is titled “Elizabeth, I Love You” and reflects Michael’s love for her. Michael only performed this song once:

Elizabeth, I love you
(written and composed by Michael Jackson)

Welcome to Hollywood,
that’s what they told you.
A child star in Hollywood,
thats what they sold you.

Grace with beauty, charm and talent,
you would do what you were told
but they robbed you of your childhood,
took your youth and sold it for gold.

Elizabeth, I love you..
you’re every star that shines in the world to me.
Elizabeth, can’t you see that its true..
Elizabeth, I love you,
you’re more than just a star to me.

Lovely Elizabeth,
you have surpassed them all.
My friend Elizabeth,
learned to outlast them all.
Many started back when you did,
lost their way, and now they’re gone
but look at you, a true survivor,
living your life and carrying on.

Elizabeth, I love you,
you’re every star that shines in the world to me.
Elizabeth, can’t you see that its true.
Elizabeth, I love you,
you’re more than just a star.

This is your life, you seem to have it all.
you reached your peak
they wanted you to fall.
It’s very sad, this world can be so bad
But through all the heartaches when they put you down,
you were the victor and you earned the crown.
It’s like walking through fire determined to win,
you were beating life’s battles again and again.

Elizabeth, I love you,
you’re every star that shines in the world to me..
Elizabeth, can’t you see that its true.

Remember the time when I was alone,
you stood by my side and said ‘Let’s be strong’.
You did all these things that only a true friend can do..

Elizabeth, I love you.
The world knows your work now,
of all the things on earth now,
I pray one day I’ll be just like…you.

“I love Elizabeth Taylor. I’m inspired by her bravery. She has been through so much and she is a survivor. That lady has been through a lot and she walked out of it on two feet. I identify with her very strongly because of our experiences as child stars. When we first started talking on the phone, she told me she felt as if she had known me for years. I felt the same way. – Michael Jackson ~♥~

2010 “Hold My Hand” Video

Hold My Hand” is a duet between Michael Jackson singer-songwriter Akon taken from Jackson’s eleventh solo studio album and first posthumous release “Michael”. The song was originally recorded in 2007 and was set to be released as the first single from Akon’s 2008 album, Freedom.  In its unfinished state, the song had been leaked in 2008. Due to the leak, the song was subsequently pulled form Akon’s track listing for his 2008 album.  This was the last new song leaked during Michael Jackson’s lifetime.  Akon finished the rest his vocals for the song in 2010, a few days before the release. It is said a handwritten note from Michael Jackson belonging to his Estate indicated his desire that “Hold My Hand” be the first single on his next project.

Akon commented, “The world was not ready to hear ‘Hold My Hand’ when it leaked a couple years ago. We were devastated about it. But its time has definitely come; now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song. I’m so proud to have had the chance to work with Michael, one of my all time idols.” Before the official release of the song, Akon stated that the final version would have more of Jackson’s vocals. The song was released globally on Monday, November 15th 2010, at 12:01am EST and was available to stream from Jackson’s official website. Jackson’s nephew, Taj Jackson, posted a message saying that his uncle was proud of the song. “I’ll never forget that smile he had on his face as the song played through the speakers in his room at the Palms Hotel in Vegas.”

The song is the second collaboration between the two artists and the second consecutive duet single release for Michael Jackson, following the 2008 version of “Wanna Be Startin Somethin”.  That song, which was the final single release during Jackson’s lifetime, proved a commercial success and charted within the top twenty in several countries.

On Saturday, November 20, the filming for the official video began in Tustin, California, a main filming location being the airship hangars at Marin Corps Air Station Tustin. There was a casting call posted up on Jackson’s official website, saying that they were “looking for his fans of all ages who want to be a part of this iconic event.

On December 9, 2010 the new video debuted on the internet. The video shows Michael Jackson in concert (from Dangerous Tour in Bucharest and HIStory Tour in Munich), Akon singing and children dancing dressed as Michael, as well as sentimental scenes of children, families and old people holding hands and a woman weeping.

Michael always referred to his music videos as short films.

Michael Jackson in the Guinness World Records (for 4th time) for Biggest poster of the world!

Guinness World Records confirms Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ album artwork as the world’s largest poster

The 29,070 ft² poster smashes the previous record by more than 110 ft²

London, UK (9 December 2010) – Guinness World Records, the global authority on record breaking, today confirms that a poster erected to mark the release of Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ album (released December 13, 2010) has set a new record as the world’s largest poster.

Guinness World Records confirmed that the poster of Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ measures 171ft by 170ft with a total surface area of 29,070 ft², smashing the previous record – held by the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver – by more than 110 ft².

To put it into perspective, the ‘Michael’ poster would take over three quarters of the pitch at Wembley stadium, is longer than the equivalent of six Routemaster buses end-to-end and if upright would be higher than Nelson’s column.

The poster, made of PVC and weighing one ton, took engineers three hours to install – and is less than 3,000 meters from one of Heathrow’s main runways, literally viewable by all planes arriving/ departing.

2010- “One More Chance” Video

One More Chance” is a song written by R Kelley for Michael Jackson and used on his ‘Number Ones’ compilation album. It was released as a single on November 20, 2003. This 2003 song was the last original single released during MJ’s lifetime. The song was later included on the Australia, France, Sweden and Indonesia editions of ‘King Of Pop’ and the Japanese Limited edition of ‘The Ultimate Collection’ box set.

Michael Jackson had been recording a video for the song in Las Vegas on November 13, 2003, however, Neverland Ranch was raided by the Santa Barbara Sheriffs Department, investigating false allegations made against the singer, which resulted in the 2005 trial and subsequent acquittal of Jackson on all charges. Following the raid, production for the video was stopped. The single was instead promoted using a montage video of highlights from Jackson’s career to date.

On October 13, 2010, the official website of Michael Jackson announced that this music video would be released in a deluxe DVD box set ‘Michael Jackson’s Vision’ on November 22, 2010. As with the song being the last brand new single released during his lifetime, the music video is also Jackson’s last music video, and the first with new footage to be released posthumously. The video features Michael Jackson performing in the audiences’ place as they stand on stage in a nightclub. Since the video was never completed by Michael himself, this video was put together for official release of the song in 2010.

Michael Tried To Help Laura Ling & Euna Lee

mj

By Gotham Chopra

The last time I spoke to my friend Michael Jackson was about  3 weeks before his shocking death. He had called me late one night to ask about another of my close friends who he had read about in the news. Laura Ling, a former colleague and friend, was detained originally by North Korean border guards along with her colleague Euna Lee on March 17th. Since then, they have been imprisoned, had very little contact with their families or western officials, and endured a secretive trial at which they were sentenced to twelve years hard labor. At this present moment, it is unclear where Laura and Euna are – whether they remain in a government guesthouse, or moved to the infamous N Korean labor camps that many do not survive.

Michael had read some of the details regarding Laura and Euna’s predicament. As was often the case with him and global events he read about – from famine in Africa to victims of natural disasters in far off countries, to orphans created by wars – he felt a deep sense of empathy for Laura and Euna. When I shared with him that Euna had a four-year-old daughter, he was even more anguished.

He asked me whether I had had any contact with Laura. I told him I had written her a few letters and had been assured they were getting through. Outside of that, her own family had only heard from her twice in the over three months they had been imprisoned. When I told him that, Michael paused.

“Do you think,” he said hesitantly, “that the leader of North Korea could be a fan of mine?” (more…)
