January:

Michael’s lead of security bodyguard Bill Bray retired after 25 years by his side. Wayne Nagin took over the job.

  • January 2 :

Michael arrived in Hawaii where he was welcomed by 150 local dancers and 200 fans. He soon joined Joe & Katherine who arrived especially for him.

  • January 3 & 4 :

Michael finished the first leg of the HIStory World Tour by performing 2 huge concerts at the Aloha Stadium in Honolulu .

  • Mid January :

Michael went to Los Angeles & then Montreux, Switzerland  to complete work on the album Blood On The Dance Floor.

  • January 21 :

Katherine’s father, Prince Scruse, died at the age of 90 years old.

  • January 24-Febuary 1 :

Michael went to Disneyland Paris.

He changed his management team by replacing Sandy Gallin with Tarak Ben Ammar from Kingdon Entertainment.

  • February 10-15 :

Michael recorded the video for “Blood On The Dance Floor” in Los Angeles, CA.

  • February 13 :

Debbie Rowe gave birth to Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr at the Cedar Sinai Medical Center of Los Angeles. Michael attended the birth and took his son to Neverland. Grace Rwaramba and Pia Bhatti were hired as Prince’s nannies and they moved to Neverland with Omer Bhatti.

  • February 16 :

Michael attended a gala to celebrate Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th birthday in Los Angeles. For the occasion he performed a song that he just recorded in Montreux called “Elizabeth I Love You” and received a standing ovation by the galaxy of stars attending the event.

  • Late February :

Michael organized a Jackson Family Day at Neverland to introduce his new born to the family.

  • March 18 :

Michael’s attorneys Zia Modabber & Steve Cochran announced that a jury in Santa Maria has dismissed the complaint by 5 former employees of Neverland who claimed they were fired.

  • March 21 :

Michael went to Marbella in where he received a special award from Sony Music.

  • March 25 :

British OK Magazine got the world exclusive by publishing the first ever official pictures of Michael & Debbie with their son Prince (at Neverland) accompanied by a candid interview of the couple.

  • April 2 :

The “Blood On The Dance Floor” video was premiered on VH1.
Michael arrived in Disneyland Paris where he rehearsed for the History Tour.

  • April 19 :

Michael attended the inauguration of his wax statue by french artist Mime Marceau at the Musée Grevin in Paris . He was accompanied by his new Manager Tarak Ben Ammar.

The single “Blood On The Dance Floor” was a big hit in Europe but wasn’t marketed well in the US.

  • May 2 :

Michael & Tarak Ben Ammar attended a press conference for the History Tour at the Munich stadium.

  • May 5 :

Michael & Tarak Ben Ammar attended the Italian TV Award Ceremont Telegatti in Milano where Michael presented an award with Luciano Pavarotti. Michael works on a duet project with Pavarotti called “What More Can I Give”

  • May 6 :

Michael flew to Cleveland, Ohio  to be inducted in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in a special Presentation with his bothers by Diana Ross & Berry Gordy.  Joe, Katherine & Barry Gibb were also present at the event.

  • May 8 :

Michael flew back to Europe to attend a midnight private presentation his his “Ghosts” short film at the Cannes Film Festival with Stan Winston & Tarak Ben Ammar among others.

  • May 14 :

The album “Blood On The Dance Floor” was released worldwide.

  • May 27/28 :

Michael went to to study a project of amusement park for Kingdom Entertainment.

  • May 29 :

Michael arrived in Bremen, Germany with Tarak Ben Ammar and they attended a press conference.

Prince Michael Jr was taken to a Paris hotel suit with his nannies so that his daddy can join him after each concert of the European tour. Debbie also arrived every week end to spend time with Michael & their son.

Sony canceled the release of HIStory’s last single “Smile” even though Michael recorded a video for the song where he imitated Charlie Chaplin.

A box set was released containing the “Ghost” short film on VHS + the unreleased song “On The Line” from the movie soundtrack Get On The Bus.

  • December 17 :

Michael visited british boxer Prince Naseem at a gymnasium in New York .

While in New York , he met Puff Daddy (P Diddy) to speak of a possible collaboration together.

Michael celebrated Christmas with his son Prince.

  • January :

Michael recorded the Prison version of the “They Don’t Care About Us” video directed by Spike Lee in New York .

Michael’s nurse & friend Debbie Rowe offers to bear his child. She got pregnant but had a miscarriage.

  • January 18 :

Lisa Marie officially filed for divorce.

  • January 25 :

Michael went to Motown Café in New York with his make up artist & friend Karen Faye.

  • February 10-17 :

Michael went to Rio in to shoot a second version of the “They Don’t Care About Us” video directed by Spike Lee.

  • February 18 :

Michael arrived in London .

  • February 19 :

Michael performed “Earth Song” at the Brit Awards in London and he received the award of Artist Of A Generation presented by Bob Geldof.

  • February 20 :

Controversy began over the “Earth Song” performance. Michael went to Disneyland Paris to spend a few days.

  • March :

The single of “They Don’t Care About Us” was released.

Michael discussed working on a three year old new short film project named “Ghost” for the song 2 Bad, directed by Stan Winston and co-written by Stephen King.

Michael was in Paris to visit castles. He stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and at the George 5 Hotel.

  • March 19 :

Michael was at a press conference in Paris to announce the launch of Kingdom Entertainment, a Paris based multimedia corporation jointly owned with Saudi Prince Al Walid.
