Michael plays the five last concert of the Bad World Tour at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles .  Among the celebrities attending the shows are Gregory Peck, Barbara Streisand, Sylvester Stallone, Sydney Poitier, Elizabeth Taylor, Whitney Houston, Berry Gordy, Sean Lennon, Yoko Ono, Liea Minnelli, Katherine, Joe, Rebbie & Janet. The tour ends after 123 concerts grossing over $125 million

Michael recorded the video for “Liberian Girl” featuring many guest stars such as Paula Abdul, Quincy Jones, John Travolta, Olivia Newton John, Rosanna Arquette, Steven Spielberg, Whoopi Goldberg, David Copperfield, Corey Feldman & Bubbles.  The video was dedicated to Liz Taylor.

  • April 12:

Michael attended the 3rd Soul Train Awards where he was presented the Heritage Award & Sammy Davis Jr Award from Eddie Murphy & Elizabeth Taylor.

Another award was presented to Michael by Mike Tyson.

  • April 14:

At the 2nd World Music Awards in , Michael accepted two awards from Whitney Houston via satellite from Neverland.

  • June 13:

Michael did a second sitting to sculptor David Goode in Los Angeles for the latest Madame Tussaud’s wax figure.

  • June 23:

“2300 Jackson Street”, the new Jackson album was released by Epic.  Michael only participates to the title song which is a tribute to Joe & Katherine with all the children (except Marlon & LaToya) & grandchildren sing and appear in the video shot during a Family Day at Tito’s home.

  • July:

Two years after the promotion began, “Liberian Girl”, the ninth & last single of the Bad album was released in Europe.

  • July 4:

Michael attended Diana Ross’s Motown home-coming party with super-model Beverly Johnson.

  • July 28:

Michael became the newsest claymation member of the Raisin Family by appearing in their new TV commercial called Michael Raisin.

  • September 13:

Michael attended a press conference to announce a new endorsement deal with L.A Gear under the special marketing campaign Unstoppable.

  • September 22:

Michael received the Humanitarian Award at the 8th annual Best Of Washington Celebrity Fashion Show and Luncheon at the Sheraton Washington Hotel.

  • October 10:

Michael went back to the Gardner Elementary School in Hollywood where he attended sixth grade.  The school renames his auditotorium “The Michael Jackson Auditorium”. Michael gave a speech to thank his former teacher Mrs Gerstin & former tutor, Rose Fine who attend the event.

Michael made a surprise appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show to present Eddie Murphy with the MTV’s Humour God Of The 80’s Award. Murphy then presented Michael with the award for Thrillers as The Greatest Video In The History Of The World.

  • December 19:

Michael visits F.A.O Schwartz toy store in Manhattan . He then went to Radio City Music Hall with several children to see the Christmas Spectacular.

  • December 28:

Ryan White, a young victim of AIDS was invited to spend a week in Neverland with Michael.

Tour rehearsals were held in Pensacola, Florida. Some footage was aired on Entertainment Tonight.

  • March 1:

Michael attended a press conference arranged by Pepsi to preview the new Pepsi commercials featuring Michael (a four part story) and presented a $600,000 check to The United Negro College Fund.

  • March 2:

At the 30th Grammy Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York , Michael amazingly performed “The Way You Make Me Feel” & “Man In The Mirror” and received a standing ovation from the whole industry. During the telecast, the new Pepsi commercials were premiered.

  • March 3:

Concert at the Madison Square Garden in New York City . During the show, Tatiana Thumbten replaced Sheryl Crow on “The Way You Make Me Feel”.  Siedah Garrett sang “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” with Michael & Steve Stevens played electric guitar on “Dirty Diana”

Among celebrities guests were Brooke Shields, Quincy Jones, Prince, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, New York City Mayor and the whole Jackson family

Michael filmed the video of “Speed Demon”.

Michael’s movie “Moonwalker” was previewed at the Cannes Film Festival

Michael arrived in Rome and stayed at the Lord Byron Hotel .

Michael, Quincy Jones & Bruce Sweden started recording the “Bad” album at the Westlake Studio in Los Angeles.

Michael purchased a new condominium in Century City nicknamed “the Hideout”

Michael had his heartbeat recorded to be used in the recording of the “Smooth Criminal” song:

Michael attended the American Cinema Awards with Sophia Loren & Sylvester Stallone.

  • February:

Michael began filming a short film for the song “Smooth Criminal” on his upcoming album. The video was directed by Colin Chilvers.  The video story was written by Michael. It featured young actors Sean Lennon, Kellie Parker & Brandon Adams, Joe Pesci and among the dancers, Lavelle Smith who will became Michael choreographer. Michael’s friend, Miko Brando also appeared in the video.

  • April:
