  • January 19 :

After the leaks of the Grand Jury transcripts to the media, Judge Melville gave Michael permission to react.

He gave an interview to Geraldo Rivera. During the interview he revealed that he is working with his brothers on a song to benefit the victims of the Tsunami disaster.

  • January 30 :

Michael released a video statement approved by Judge Melville.

  • January 31 (Day 1 of Jury selection) :

Michael arrived at court without his family and friends due to a lack of space in the courtroom.

  • February 1 (day 2) :

Michael went to court where Jury selection continued.

  • February 2 :

Michael’s lawyers attended a court hearing for Debbie’s visitation rights.

  • February 5 :

Fox News aired Michael’s interview with Geraldo Rivera + an interview of Katherine at Hayvenhurst

Michael went to court where Jury selection resumed after a break due to Mesereau’s sister death.

  • February 15 :

Jury selection is once again delayed after Michael got sick on his way to the courthouse. He was taken to the Marion hospital where he spent the night.

  • February 16 :

Katherine, Joe & Jermaine visit Michael at the hospital before he went back to Neverland to rest.

  • February 21 :

Michael hosted a party for Blanket’s 3rd birthday.

  • February 22 (day 4) :

Michael went to court where Jury selection continued.

  • February 23 (day 5):

Michael went to court where the 8 members of the Jury were selected.

Michael went to court to attend the last preliminary hearing before the trial started.

Michael went to court with Katherine & Jermaine. District attorney Thomas Sneddon Jr gave his opening statement followed by Thomas Mesereau’s.

  • March 1 (Day 2):

Michael went to court with Katherine & Jackie. Mesereau completed his opening statement. The prosecution opened his case by showing the Martin Bashir documentary to the Jury before calling Bashir as the first witness. His testimony was followed by the one of Ann Gabriel.

  • March 2 (Day 3):

Michael went to court with Katherine & Jackie. Ann Gabriel was cross examined by the defense.

  • March 3 (Day 4):

Michael went the court with Jackie & Katherine. The prosecution showed a video of the Neverland search to the Jury. Albert Lafferty testified followed by Davellin Arvizo.

  • March 4 (Day 5):

Michael went to court with Katherine, LaToya & Jermaine. The prosecution showed the rebuttal interview of the Arvizo family made by Michael’s team. Davellin Arvizo was cross examined by Mesereau.

  • March 7 (Day 6):

Michael went to court with Katherine, Joe & Jermaine. Mesereau finished Davellin Arvizo’s cross examination. The prosecution presented the audio interview of the Arvizo family to the Jury before calling it’s next witness: Arvizo himself.

  • March 8 (Day 7):

Michael went to court with Katherine, Joe & Jermaine. Mesereau cross examined Arvizo.

  • March 9 (Day 8):

Michael went to court with Katherine, Joe, Jermaine & Tito. Mesereau completed the cross examination. The next witness was Gavin Arvizo.

  • March 10 (Day 9):

Michael arrived 1 hour late, dressed in pajamas with Katherine, Joe, Jermaine & Tito because a terrible back-ache caused by a fall, took him to the emergency room of the hospital. Gavin’s testimony resumed.

Michael did not attend today’s hearing which was dedicated to motions.

  • March 14 (Day 11):

Michael went to court with Katherine, Joe, Jackie & Tito. Mesereau cross-examined Gavin.

  • March 15 (Day 12):

Michael went to court with Katherine, Joe, Jackie & Tito. Mesereau completed Gavin’s cross examinations. The following prosecution witnesses were Steve Robel & Jeff Klapakis.

Michael was once again taken to the hospital because of back pain. He then went to court with Katherine, Joe & Jackie where a doctor explained the health state of Michael to the judge who agreeed to let him go home.   • March 23 (Day 18):

Michael went to court with Katherine & Joe. Testimonies of Robert Cooley, Craig Bonner & Dr Antonio Cantu.

Michael went to court with Katherine & Joe. Jesus Salas was cross examined. The next witness was Jason Francia. Back at Neverland, Michael was welcomed by many fans and Karen Faye whom had decorated the ranch gates with rose petals. To thank them, he invited them to his home where they meet Prince, Paris & Blanket and each received a signed box set of Michael’s Ultimate Collection.

  • April 5 (Day 26):

Michael went to court with Katherine & Joe. Jason Francia was cross examined. Then his lawyer Chriss Kallman & his mother Blanca Francia testified.

  • April 6 :

Michael attended the funeral of his old criminal lawyer Johnnie Cochran.

  • April 7 (Day 27):

Michael went to court with Katherine & Tito. Testimonies of Ralph Chacon & Adrian Mc Manus.

Michael went to court with Katherine & Tito. Adrian McManus was cross examined. Testimony of Phillip Lemaeque.

  • April 15 (Day 33):

Michael went to court with Katherine. The prosecution showed the Jury surveillance videos of the Arvizo family by Brad Miller. Mesereau then began the cross examination of Janet Arvizo Jackson.

Michael went to court with Katherine. Mesereau finished Janet’s cross examination. The next witnesses were her mother Maria Ventura, Michael Davy & Janet Williams.

Michael in court with Katherine. The judge refused to allow the testimonies of Larry King & Michael Viner because they are “hearsay”. The next witness was Chris Tucker’s girlfriend Azja Pyor. The defense then proceded by showing to the Jury a video presentation of Neverland.

  • May 20 (Day 57):

Michael in court with Katherine & Randy. Mark Geragos completes his testimony.

  • May 23 (Day 58):

  • May 25 (Day 60):

Michael in court with Katherine & Joe. The defense rests its case after Chris Tucker’s cross examination. The prosecution then opened it’s rebuttal with the testimonies of Timothy Rooney & Jesus Salas.

  • May 26 (Day 61):

Michael in court with Katherine & Joe. Testimonies of Christine Klausner, Gearge Erwin & William Dickerman.

  • May 27 (Day 62):

Michael in court with Katherine, Joe & Randy. Testimonies of Steve Robel & Craig Bonner. The prosecution rests it’s rebuttal by showing the Jury a video of Gavin’s police deposition in July 2003. The defense declines to make a rebuttal so Judge Melville declares the testimonies over.

  • May 31 (Day 63):

Special hearing where the Judge & the lawyers determined the rules of Jury deliberations. Neither Michael, nor the Jury attended court.

  • June 1 (Day 64):

Michael in court with Katherine, Joe & Randy where Judge Melville gave the Jury the rules of Jury Deliberations.

  • June 2 (Day 66):

Michael in court with Katherine, Joe, Randy, Jermaine & Tito. Ron Zonen gave his closing statement followed by Tom Mesereau who didn’t have time to finish.

Frank Tyson spoke for the first time to defend Michael in an interview to Prime Time Live on ABC.

  • June 3 (Day 67):

Michael in court with Katherine, Joe, Janet and LaToya.

Tom Mesereau completed his closing arguments.

  • June 3-13 :

While Jury deliberations took place, the whole Jackson family waits for the verdict at Neverland.

  • June 13 :

The Jury reached a verdict. Michael and the Jackson family went to court where he was acquitted on all counts!! They went back to Neverland. The trial is over. Michael was Innocent!!!


  • June 14 :

Michael’s acquittal was seen everywhere in the media. Mesereau gave an interview to Larry King. Michael, Grace and the kids left Neverland and went to San Diego to stay at Deepak Choprah’s home.

  • June 17 :

Michael’s passeport was returned to him as well as his $3 million bail.

  • June 19 :

Michael, Grace & the kids discretely leave the US and flew to Paris where they checked in the Crillon Hotel.

  • June 29:

Michael, Grace & the kids left Paris and go to Manama , the capital of Barhain as guests to Prince Abdullah (a friend of Jermaine)

  • Early July :

Grace took Prince & Paris to Los Angeles where they got to see Debbie for the first time in years at a Beverly Hills Hotel.

  • July 11:

Fortress Investments sued Michael for $48 million, for the $437 million loan they gave him last November in order to pay back his $272 million debt to the Bank Of America.

  • July 20:

In New Orleans, Judge Fallon was furious that neither Michael nor any of his layers attended a court proceeding in the Joseph Bartucci case.

Judge Melville ordered Sneddon to give back any material belonging to Michael from the raid at Neverland except the 1993 body pictures

  • July 25:

Sony released a new double CD Greatest Hits titled ‘The Essential’ as well as the live DVD of  The 1992 Dangerous Tour in Bucharest’ .

Michael chose to film his HBO Dangerous Tour concert special in Bucharest in order to highlight the plight of Romanian orphans.

  • August 3:

It was rumored that Michael gave an exclusive interview to the version of OK Magazine.
Two jury members were about to publish a book about Michael caused a great controversy

  • August 18:

Court Hearing in the Joseph Bartucci case in New Orleans. Judge Eldon Fallon fined Michael $10,000 for failing to be represent at a previous hearing. Michael’s new attorney was Charles Gay & Bartucci’s new attorney was William Pigg.

  • August 20:

Michael had lunch at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai with a Bahraini delegation.

  • August 23:

Janet Arvizo was charged with a five counts complaint of welfare fraud by the Los Angeles District Attorney.

  • August 29:

Michael’s 47th birthday!

He spent one week in Dubai with Prince Abdullah & top Arab motor sport personality Mohamed Ben Sulayem.

  • September 6:

Raymone Bain announced that Michael had wrote a new charity song named “From The Bottom Of My Heart” for the victims of the hurricane Katrina in New Orleans . He wanted to record the song within the next two weeks with other recording superstars and will release it on 2 Seas Records, a label owned by Prince Abdullah & Jermaine Jackson.

  • September 16:

Michael phoned Linda Deutsch from the Associated Press through Raymone Bain.

  • September 23:

Michael was at the Dorchester Hotel in London to give a deposition for Marc Schaffel’s suit. He’s accompanied by his lawyers Thomas Mesereau & Michael Sydow while Schaffel was accompanied by his lawyer Howard King & Dieter Wiesner.

  • October 6:

Michael was at the Dorchester Hotel in London with Grace, Prince, Paris , Blanket, Raymone , Thomas Mesereau & Prince Abdullah.

  • October 7:

Michael was mobbed by his fans when he went out of his hotel to go to the legendary recording studio of Abbey Road

Michael & Grace took the kids to see the stage show of Billy Elliot. They were accompanied by Mark Lester & his family.

Michael took Prince, Paris & Blanket to Harrods where they were greeted by owner Mohamed Al Fayed.

Michael & Grace took Prince, Paris & Blanket to see the movie Wallace & Grommit.

  • October 18:

Michael & his entourage left London .

Michael had once again been summoned to appear in court – but this time as a juror. Thomas Mesereau informed that Michael would not be be able to attend because he was seeking permanent residency in Bahrain

  • October 27:

Michael’s lawyer Brent Ayscough confirmed that Michael had filed a counter suit against Marc Schaffel , accusing him of concealing and misappropriating funds and he had also settled a lawsuit filed by an antiques dealer whom alleged had not fully paid for $380,000 worth of goods.

While in Barhain, Michael coordinated the recording of FTBOMH in Los Angeles with artists such as R Kelly, The O’Jays, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Shirley Caesar, James Ingram, Babyface. He also renamed the song “I Have A Dream”.

  • November 5 :

Michael & the kids were back in Dubai where they stayed at the  Royal Mirage

November 12:

Michael had to be escorted by the police after mistakenly entering a ladies room in the Egyptian Court of Ibn Battuta Mall (Dubai)

  • November 14 :

Michael attended the Dubai Desert Rally racing tournament at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi hotel in Dubai with close friend and renowned UAE rally driver Mohammad Ben Sulayem and Saeed Hareb, managing director of the Dubai International Marine Club.

  • November 15 :

Michael & his kids arrived in Muscat (Oman) where they stayed at the Grand Hyatt Hotel
Michael’s longtime head of security Bill Bray died at the age of 80.

  • November 19 :

Michael & his kids stayed at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Muscat

  • November 21 :

Michael’s former business partner & adviser Dieter Wiesner filed a civil complaint against Michael & his society Triumph in Los Angeles demanding $64 million for fraud & breach of contract of MJ Net Entertainment.

  • November 22 :

A new controversy arose when US TV show Good Morning America played excerpts from phone recorded message left by Michael to Marc Shaffel in 2003 which contained an anti-semetic words

  • November 24 :

Michael, Grace & the kids had dinner at the American Ambassador’s residence in Oman for Thanksgiving.

  • December 1 :

In response to tabloid reports claiming Tom Sneddon was investigating Michael reported use of illegal drugs, Michael’ s lawyer Brent Ayscough said that Michael used an amount of prescription drugs, but does not take anything illegal or obtain anything in an illegal manner.

  • December 19 :

Court hearing in the Debbie Rowe’ s children visitation rights case in Los Angeles.
On the eve of the deadline date for the reimbursement of Michael’s $270 million loan to Bank Of America, Fortress Investments accepted to give one more delay to Michael.

  • December 22 :

Michael spent $40,000 on Christmas shopping at Ashraf’s Department Store.

  • December 23 :

Michael spent $35,000 on Christmas shopping at the Panasonic Store. He has invited the Cascio and Lester families to spend the holidays with him in Bahrain.
