June 11, 2003 Michael Jackson returned to his hometown Gary, Indiana
On June 11, 2003 Michael returned to his hometown Gary, Indiana. Michael first went to the City Hall where Mayor King presented him with a Key to the city and a street sign. After the presenting, Michael returned to his childhood home 2300 Jackson Street that now belongs to a cousin of Joseph Jackson. Later, Michael went to Roosevelt High School and was presented with an honorary diploma. In the evening, he attended “Salute to the Troops”, an event held at the Baseball Stadium.
